About Ashland

Ashland and Southern Oregon offer the best that life has to offer: A slower pace of life, a safe environment, wondrous natural beauty, high educational standards, rich cultural amenities, cutting edge medical facilities, an international airport and a wonderful climate with four distinct seasons.

Since 1994 I have sold real estate to people from all over the world and I have never sold a property to anyone who decided they didn’t love it here. Usually within 1 ½ years of moving here, my former clients contact me to arrange for me to show additional family members or long time friends how they too can live here.

You will love the Oregon Shakespeare Festival which stages Shakespearean and contemporary performances in 3 theaters located in the center of town. Two are indoor theaters and the outdoor Elizabethan theater is a replica of the Fortune Theatre in London. The Festival puts on over 800 performances annually from February through the end of October. These are very high end performances and Time Magazine named OSF as the number 2 repertory theater in the country, the Globe Theater in Boston rated as number one. The festival draws over 400,000 ticket holders annually for the production of eleven plays. Festival goers delight in the artistry of the productions and top notch caliber of direction, acting, staging and costuming. In addition to Shakespeare’s most heralded and lesser known plays, past productions have included Raisin In the Sun, Night of the Iguana, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Pride and Prejudice and To Kill a Mocking Bird. In addition to the plays, a free outdoor “Green Show” precedes the evening plays from June through October.

In response to the heavily attended OSF productions there are many fine restaurants in Ashland as well as bed and breakfasts and boutique motels. Enjoy beautiful Lithia Park, located on about 93 acres in the center of town. Lithia Park was designed by John McLaren who designed Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. If you are familiar with Golden Gate Park you will recognize the replicas in Lithia Park of the sycamore grove, Japanese tea garden, band shell and rose garden. There are over 250 species of trees from around the world in Lithia Park. It is a true treasure.
